Fr. Robert Skrzypczak "Barbarians are coming"

The subject-matter of this book is very general; we can say that we can learn from it what is happening in the world and in the Church and we can we look for hope. We can read here about truly fascinating things, like the desire of some Jewish circles to rebuild the Temple of Jerusalem in its former place. The problem is, Al-Axa Mosque is in its place - the third most sacred temple in Islam, according to which it is the place where Muhammad was taken to Heaven from. Of course, fulfilling this plan would provoke a huge war with the Muslim world. Among various threats from the political sphere, Russia could not be omitted, but we also learn that Iran might help it.

But Father Skrzypczak also discusses civilizational dangers: secularism, the presence of satanism in pop-culture (for example, on Eurovision), mental disease epidemic and the impending demographic catastrophe. At the end, he points to a source of hope - Marian apparitions, very frequent for over 150 years, calling to penance and conversion; and also the examples of the lives of the saints, the quite contemporary ones. A very useful and fascinating reading.
